Re: UFC 189: Mendes vs. McGregor
So does anyone actually watch UFC here? I usually decide by who has the coolest nickname, but if the nickname is kinda douchey, I go with the more humble sounding guy. Somehow I've won 2 UFC PPV's using that tactic.
Anyway, on match 10, there's an option to pick 'D', assuming it's supposed to say 'Draw'.
Just a heads up.

Re: UFC 189: Mendes vs. McGregor
We have this discussion occasionally, and there's yet to be anyone to say they watch it. I assume Karp watches UFC, since he puts up the matches. Or maybe he just takes the results from wiki.
I know there haven't been any discussion in a half year.
I've gotten a win too by just picking whose names sounds more bad ass. I typically pick the foreigners if possible, because i feel most people on here goes for the Americans whose names sounds more "normal".

I watch the bigger events, I may watch this if I'm bored tomorrow night but I'm not as into UFC as I was a few years ago. If the main event hadn'tt changed I'd watch it for sure.
Re: UFC 189: Mendes vs. McGregor
I watch it, Banzai watches it, the Ohio crew watched when they were around. I think nick, liquid and wcwchris watch too.
Re: UFC 189: Mendes vs. McGregor
To be fair, i planned on watching this particular show too. But that's only because of McGregor. I watched his last fight live. And then i watched the first show of the year, because it had been built well. But i still only know the main eventers on half the shows, so i'd still say i don't know anything when predicting the PPV's lol.LiQuid wrote:I watch the bigger events, I may watch this if I'm bored tomorrow night but I'm not as into UFC as I was a few years ago. Can you answer me. Even those who follows every UFC PPV, they still have no idea what to pick in the early-prelims right? It seems to me that they're usually some unknown guys no one has heard about, so that would be 50/50 guesses all over the board, even to those who watches regularly. Am i right or wrong in this?
Re: UFC 189: Mendes vs. McGregor
Even when I was following it closer I didn't know the under card that often. At least not by name, if I was watching the show after I would think "Oh THAT's who that was, I should have picked them" or you recognize name from past picks and ultimate fighter participants which used to make up most of the under card.
Now they have woman and the extra lighter weight belts their is so many damn fighters and shows I can't keep up. Not to mention most of the guys I was big fans of have moved on.

Yeah I've been watching since around UFC 100 and still don't know most of the prelim guys.

The registration is closing early again, 2 hours before the prelims even start.

Gotta talk to Karp. I'm guessing he doesn't realize the time difference or is just being cautious.SeeDub wrote:The registration is closing early again, 2 hours before the prelims even start.
