Titlewars Preview: Payback 2014

Post by GM Bike » Thu May 29, 2014 10:12 pm

United States Championship
Sheamus (c) vs. Cesaro

thereisonlyoneme (c) vs. Franchise 13:32 vs. SeeDub 15:00

This is hands down one of the most loaded Titlewars matches in Stablewars history! The reigning U.S. Champion thereisonlyoneme has held the Title for 375 days! That's good enough to be in the top 4 all time! (I had no idea!) He will defend his Title against two Titlewars legends! They are the reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion and Diva's Champion Franchise and reigning Intercontinental Champion (and TNA Tag Team Champion) SeeDub.

Intercontinental Championship
Bad News Barrett (c) vs. Rob Van Dam

SeeDub (c) vs.
*Nobody*

Nobody picked RVD to win the IC Title so SeeDub continues his respectable reign which is just under 200 days long.

Divas Championship
Paige (c) vs. Alicia Fox

Franchise (c) vs.
*Nobody*

That's right! Nobody picked Alicia Fox to win the Diva's Championship. Also this, about a month ago Franchise passed the man he defeated for the Title in NWG on January 14, 2013 to become the longest reigning Diva's Champion in Titlewars history! He's currently held the belt for a whopping 500 days!

Remaining Championships
WWE World Heavyweight Champion: Franchise (c)
WWE World Tag Team Champions: GM Bike & 3pointtally (c) and The Viper & WorldsBestWrestler (c)

With Daniel Bryan having neck surgery annnd The Usos being left off the card (at the moment), all of these lovely people continue their reigns with newly crowned WWE Champion Franchise sitting at a 53-day reign. While The Viper & WorldsBestWrestler hold strong at 87 days. They share their reign with the longest reigning champions in Titlewars history GM Bike & 3pointtally who just eclipsed the 3-year mark, having won the Titles when The Nexus did on May 23, 2011, and sit at a mystifying 1,102 days.

I think Franchise and SeeDub have a shot. I believe Sheamus is a transitional champion. I believe after WM, WWE decided to put the title on Cesaro. Rather than have him beat Ambrose, they gave the title to Sheamus, made a big deal about it, so when Cesaro wins, it's a bigger deal.

You could argue beating Ambrose is a big deal after his lengthy reign, but WWE doesn't because they just forgot about the title. It's only a big deal, when they make it one.
