by Mackinlee
With the new policy/disclaimer about the Vegas Odds, we will be moving the PPV Reg closing time back to the pre-show one hour before the PPV (generally 7pm).

Thank you,
Stablewars Staff

Edit: 5/18/17 (by Franchise)

On all future WWE PPVs and NXT specials, registration will be closing at 12:00 PM EST on the day of the PPV. Please be aware of this time change and make sure to make PPV picks accordingly.

Thank you,

Stablewars Staff

Is this to avoid people reading the Vegas odds? Because they don't change much between noon and the time of the show. This might frustrate/discourage people who play and aren't forum regulars. Just my two cents, can be ignored accordingly.

It will not be ignored, and it is because of Vegas odds. We want picks to be from the players, not from Vegas, and noon is the earliest we want registration to close at this time. We've already closed it earlier and still hit our target number of players.

So thank you for the Classic RoMo two cents.

That's cool (even with unnecessary snippy last sentence).

I get trying to curb it... something does have to be done. I just know Orton was a heavy favourite to win the Rumble days before Sunday. So I dunno if noon from 4 does much.

Maybe more bonus type questions (predict type of finish, etc.) to eliminate someone getting a perfect card and winning easily as well?

It wasn't snippy at all. Sorry you feel that way.

Orton was rumored to win it the day before, but was heavily predicted to win the day of the PPV. We discussed moving registration a whole day, but felt like one less day will be too much and players will fail to submit picks in on time. Chise has done some research and noon is an appropriate time for now.

As for bonus questions it would make a PPV ridiculously too hard to play. We use bonus questions for Rumbles and SSeries but those are exceptions. Plus, Bike missed every bonus question but his perfect card was enough to get him first.

This is why we can't have nice things. It's a fun game but people have to go looking at betting odds and try toruin it.

This is why my UFC dominance proves I am better than all of you.

TBF, sites like 411mania had "ORTON NEW BETTING FAVOURITE AT ROYAL RUMBLE" as a headline, which is really, really frustrating and dumb. Could so easily say "New Betting Favourite for Rumble" as the headline and then have to click on the link to actually see it.

Seriously, why give it away in the headline? That's click baiting 101.

Completely agree on the first point. It's supposed to be a game of your personal skill level and not who can guess the best tie-breaker time.

And LOL to the second point. UFC can be such a crapshoot sometimes tho with flash knockouts and such. But I agree it's much harder to predict especially with how many fighters there are. Tough to keep track of everyone.

Yea see that's a crap thing for them to do. I hate hearing reliable rumors like that because I want to leave at least some level of intrigue. Like I was pissed when I was watching MSS on that preview show when the host started rattling off the guys with the best odds to win the Rumble. But at the time, there were like four guys with 4-1 or 3.5-1 odds to win so at least there wasn't like oh here's this one guy at 2-1 and the next closest is at 7-1. I shut it off after that tho cuz I didn't want to hear if there were odds for other matches.

Close yourself from those websites. Surprises being surprising again it's quite fun.

However, if people want to win a DVD of a PPV from 2007 by all means seek that stuff out.

This. Best thing I ever did some years back and rarely ever go if not looking for a Raw/SD preview or results for match times.
