TNA Stablewars Season 24 Summary & Analysis

Post by lfpnrg »

TNA Stablewars Season 24 Summary

In the biggest season yet, with a record 95 participants, The Five Horsemen's newest member Football Mike (Stable name : Football Bike) showed why he was selected to join one of Stablewars most elite factions as he takes out the win in TNA Stablewars Season 24. In a stunning finish to the season, Football Mike was behind faction mate Ronin (Russo and Jarrett suck) by 24 points going into the final MATCH of the season (let alone the final show!!), but a victory to Kurt Angle saw him score a whopping 29 points (signature win + TNA Heavyweight Title defence + main event + 6 ankle locks), which was enough to push Football Mike ahead.

Football Mike's stable included the seasons highest scoring main-eventer in Kurt Angle, the highest scoring mid-carder in Kaz, and the highest scoring diva/semi-active wrestler in Booker T so it's not hard to see why he finished on top. Jay Lethal, Awesome Kong, Robert Roode/Scott Steiner and Machete/Johnny Devine were the other wrestlers he selected, and apart from Machete each made excellent contributions through-out the season. This is Football Mike's second TNA Stablewars win as he also came in victorious in Season 16, and he now joins Watsuki and The Biznich in the two time winners club.

Ronin's stable had a consistent season and he was always among the front runners, although he didn't take the lead until the season's penultimate show. Lead admirably by Samoa Joe, who along with Jay Lethal, Kaz, Johnny Devine, Scott Steiner, Gail Kim and Booker T had an great second half to the season, Ronin's stable picked up more wins than any other, with 40 (compared to only 32 for Football Mike). Ronin will no doubt be very disappointed to fall at the final hurdle and he must surely be ruing selecting Junior Fatu at the beginning of the season though, as just six points from any other random mid-carder would have been enough for the victory.

Rounding out the top five were forum members KCC (Team Slapnuts), Butabi101 (DreamTeam) and Team Discovery Channel's LiQuid (LiQuidation Sensation), while two Mega Power members Watsuki (Watsuki) and Franchise (Umaga > Samoa Joe) crept into the top 10 along with another TDC member westryde9 (Westryde's Terrible Selections) and Right To Censor's yankeesjc13 (Nation of Constipation). In fact, in stark contrast to the current WWE Stablewars season, only two of the top 20 placings were taken by non forum members.

At the other end of the standings, in last place was The Best in The Business (non-member), which was the only stable that failed to score 100 points. A stable consisting of Abyss, Rhino, Raven, D-Lo Brown (?), Shark Boy, James Mitchell & Rob Van Dam (?!) looks OK on paper, but in reality only Abyss was ever likely to score any significant points. The Best in The Business managed to have the least amount of wins AND the least amount of losses, which shows that his wrestlers just weren't wrestling, and basically confined him to the bottom of the table. He had the lowest scoring stable post-trade window and the second lowest scoring stable pre-trade window, so all in all it just wasn't a good season. The lowest faction member was United World Order's 619fan (Rose's Stable) who came in 90th place.

Pre-trade window, KurtAngle51 (non-member), Butabi101 and the UWO's Wrestlingispower (AJ Styles is the World Heavyweight Champion) were the leading scorers with 150, 140 and 140 points respectively, but there were significantly more points to be had after the trade window with top ten finishers yankeesjc13 (259 points) , KCC (253 points) and eventual winner Football Mike (253 points) leading the way. The biggest improvement in standings after the trade window was by tommyllama (Team Puff,Puff,Pass), who rose 44 places from 87th to 43rd, while the most significant improvement was by yankeesjc13, who managed to climb to 6th from 44th and could very well have been victorious given a better start to the season. The biggest drop post trade window was by Team Canada's Chilltown (Chilltown), who fell a massive 61 places from 11th to 72nd and would definitely be regretting not making any trades.

Kurt Angle was the leading scorer for the season with 92 points (from just 4 wins), ahead of Samoa Joe (87 - 8 wins), Kaz (82 - 8 wins), AJ Styles (67 - 4 wins) & Booker T (65 - 7 wins). As an open choice at a cost of just 0.30M, Booker T was a great selection for many stables and it will be interesting to see if there are any similar bargain buys to be had next time round. Other wrestler to score 8 wins were (former) Women's Champion Gail Kim and the ever popular Eric Young, while people who selected Robert Roode would have been disapointed as he picked up 10 losses and just 2 wins over the 10 week season.

The Mega Powers (Watsuki, Franchise, Fuggly Bastard & Killer Karpediem) were the most succesful faction, with an average ranking of 27th thanks to top ten finishes by Watsuki and Franchise, while The Five Horsemen only averaged a ranking of 40th despite having Football Mike and Ronin finishing 1st and 2nd. Of the factions who put up 3 players or more, Team Canada was the worst with an average rank of 69th (best performer was PimpinSmurf in 57th place), while Right To Censor would be regretting not being able to build on the strong showing by yankeesjc13 (6th) as he was their only entry.

So another exciting season of TNA Stablewars is in the books, and congratulations must go out for an excellent performance by Football Mike, Season 24's winner. Be sure to watch out for Season 25 registration beginning January 23rd, as week look to break 100 stables for the first time! See you then!

Re: TNA Stablewars Season 24 Summary & Analysis

Post by Watsuki »

I'm happy with my 7th place. I never really had a shot at winning the season, if I did I'd probably be pissed about 7th. But having bounced in and out of the top 10 most of the season it's nice to finish in there.

Ronin truly is cursed at TNA Stablewars. This game may just elude him forever. Nice comeback for Bike, taking the lead on the last match doesn't happen often, that's for sure. I think I remember it happening once for sure, I think I lost a season in the last match, but I forget which season.

The Horsemen taking first and second is quite dominating. But at least the Mega Powers stayed the strongest on average which is a little comforting considering our terrible WWE season. Chise keeping the TNA Women's title with us was also good for a sigh of relief.

I just missed the deadline.
I used to post a lot here. Then I took a meme to the cake.
